Yehu MFI since its inception, has focused on low-income women entrepreneurs in rural Kenya inaccessible to the mainstream financial services. The goal has been to create opportunities through empowerment for these women that suffer socio-economic marginalization to better their livelihoods.
The emerging challenge has been the sustainability of the business operational model that largely is informed by the co-guarantorship methodology.
To sustain this intervention and for it to realize the desired impact in enhancing the women livelihoods, there is urgent need to adopt a holistic approach that resonates with people, planet, and profit issues.
This is therefore to invite partnerships and collaborations that will support Yehu to entrench holistic best practices and approaches driven by tested tools such as the universal standards for social and environmental performance management to realize optimal impact in the improvement of women livelihoods in rural Kenya in a sustainable manner.
